The best throwback images of royals at the Chelsea Flower Show

The Chelsea Flower Show is one of the Royal Family's favourite events of the year. Royal watchers have come to anticipate the Queen's appearance at the annual London show each May.
Furthermore, it is typical to see a number of other British royals, such as Duchess Kate and Sophie, Countess of Wessex. Sometimes, we are lucky enough to see royals from outside of the United Kingdom at the incredible horticultural event.

Princes Diana, 1984
Diana, Princess of Wales clutched the show's program as she stepped out to the 1984 event.
She was expecting Prince Harry at the time and was clad in a navy maternity coat by Jan van Velden.

Emperor Naruhito and Princess Alexandra, 2001
The Japanese Emperor, who was then Crown Prince Naruhito, pointed out the beautiful details of the Japanese Garden to the Queen's cousin, Princess Alexandra.
The Japanese royal was on an official state visit to Britain which included him visiting Windsor and London.

Princess Alice, 1976
The Countess of Athlone, who was the last surviving grandchild of Queen Victoria at the time, stepped out to the 1976 Chelsea Flower Show in London.
She passed away in 1981, just before her 98th birthday.
