Queen Máxima wears cheerful floral jumpsuit for King Willem-Alexander's 53rd birthday portraits

The Dutch royals celebrated the 53rd birthday of King Willem-Alexander on April 27 at Palace Huis ten Bosch and released a series of family portraits to mark the occasion. In them, Queen Máxima chose a spectacular floral jumpsuit from Seren London.

The fashionable queen wore the Truman Jumpsuit in a beautiful bougainvillea floral print featuring a white background and pink and red flowers. The statement style was constructed out of a silky satin material and had a loose tailored fit. The all-in-one originally retailed for £725 (about $1,265) but was on sale for approximately half the price before it sold out.

Seren is an up-and-coming British brand that was founded by designer Lucia Dailey in 2016. The name is short for "serendipity," and the label wants to create unique looks for event dressing. So, the flower-printed jumpsuit was certainly a fantastic choice for Máxima to ring in King Willem-Alexander's 53rd year!

The 48-year-old played up the refreshing white background of the jumpsuit with a thick white belt fastened around her waist. She added more colour to the look with red-heeled sandals, a sparkling bracelet and statement green earrings.

Her blonde hair was parted to the side and blow-dried straight. She tucked the front layers behind her ears to showcase her sparkling earrings.

The queen and king posed at the palace with their teenage daughters, Princess Amalia, 16, Princess Alexia, 14, and Princess Ariane, 13. The girls also showcased their pretty spring style. Amalia brought some sunshine in a yellow broderie anglaise dress with frilled neckline and skirt hem. Her younger sister donned an above-the-knee white shirt dress with thick black belt, borrowing a styling detail from her mother. Finally, Ariane looked sweet in a soft blue dress with elbow-length sleeves. All the sisters wore spring shoes, with Amalia and Alexia in sandals and Ariane in low espadrilles.

The king's birthday, known appropriately as King's Day, is typically a national holiday in the Netherlands. But the national celebration in Maastricht was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Dutch royals might not have been able to celebrate with everyone in the usual manner because of COVID-19, but they shared their loving family portraits on social media and participated in video calls.
