Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will marry in late May: reports

By Zach Harper

May has been a favourite month for royal weddings in recent years. In 2018, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan tied the knot on Victoria Day long weekend, with Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston doing so on the same weekend last year. It looks like we'll be having another May royal wedding again this year!

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi look to tie the knot on May 29, according to two reports from HELLO! UK and People.

While nothing has been officially announced by Buckingham Palace yet, People says that will happen in the next few days. The publication says the wedding reception will take place at the Palace and the ceremony itself will be held nearby. A source told People it is intended to be "low-key," and will fall after the Queen's garden parties at the Palace in early May.

Beatrice and Edoardo announced their engagement in September and released a series of gorgeous portraits taken by Princess Eugenie in revealing their news. The couple are said to have gotten engaged earlier in 2019 while on a trip to Italy.

"Beabea - wow! I'm so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It's been a long time coming and you two are meant to be," Eugenie said when the two announced their engagement, taking to Twitter and Instagram to share several of the photos she took.

Edoardo proposed to Beatrice with a gorgeous custom-made platinum and diamond engagement ring by British jeweller Shaun Leane. It features a 2.5-karat diamond, alongside several .75-karat diamonds that are ethically sourced from Botswana. The ring designer is a favourite of the Duchess of Sussex and is rumoured to have cost just over US$310,000.

Beatrice and Edoardo reportedly first met at an elegant party hosted by Indian billionaire Lakshmi Mittal Diwali in London in September 2018. The couple made their official public debut together at the National Portrait Gallery gala in March and have been pretty inseparable ever since they started dating.

Edoardo was previously engaged and has a son, Christopher Woolf , 3, whose nickname is Wolfie and to whom Beatrice has reportedly become very close. Beatrice’s fiancé earned millions as a property developer for uber-rich clientele, and founded a property consultancy firm called Banda, which means “big shed” in Swahili, in 2007.
