Hillary Clinton and Duchess Meghan reportedly bonded in a secret visit at Frogmore Cottage

Earlier this week, former US first lady and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton spoke out in support of Duchess Meghan, saying she wanted to give the new mom a hug. She got the chance to do just that this week when she visited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – and Archie! – at their home of Frogmore Cottage.

According to People, Meghan secretly invited Hillary to her home, and the former US secretary of state even got a chance to hold the sweet six-month-old little boy.

“She… snuggled him,” a royal source told the publication. “She is very proud of [daughter] Chelsea’s three kids and there was a lot of chatter about newborns and feeding schedules.”

Last week while they were visiting military families at a surprise engagement, Meghan and Harry revealed Archie is teething and crawling. Hillary reportedly said he’s a fast learner, pointing out crawling at six months is “early.”

The two also bonded over a letter Meghan wrote Hillary when she was just 11, pointing out a dishwasher soap ad was “sexist” and demanding it stop airing on TV.

“It was a private and sweet moment. They were equally excited to meet each other,” the source told People. Neither Chelsea or Prince Harry were there.

Hillary was in the UK with Chelsea to promote The Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience , which they’ve written together. The political figure appeared on Emma Barnett’s BBC Radio 5 show on Nov. 12 and said she wanted to hug Meghan.

“I feel as a mother I just want to put my arms around her,” she said. “I want to tell her to hang in there, don’t let those bad guys get you down. Keep going, do what you think is right.”

Hillary also said the Duchess of Sussex does not deserve what she’s been going through and all she’s done is fall in love with Harry and have a baby.

“Everybody should be celebrating that because it is a true love story,” she said. “You can just look at them and see that.”
