Golden Globe-nominee Julianne Moore has had plenty of practice in perfecting her awards-show attire. Often touted as one of the classiest women in show business, the 54-year-old actress rarely takes a misstep on the red carpet, though she swears by just two incredibly simple fashion rules.
“After a certain age, you can’t wear anything with words on it,” she told The Edit. “Also, I don't wear a lot of colour because, having red hair, I carry a lot of colour with me.”
The star, who received a Golden Globe nomination for her role in Still Alice, has been on a red-carpet roll as of late, wowing in jewel-toned cocktail dresses and eye-catching gowns both on the film festival circuit and at promotional appearances for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. However, the veteran actress admits that her style hasn’t always been so flawless. Her number one fashion regret? Transparency.
“The many, many times the flash went off and you could see things!” she told Flare, adding, “I think it’s gotten better, as I’ve had more and more access to really beautiful clothes. It’s a privilege. To try on these couture pieces, to wear them, I mean, it’s fun. It’s so fun.”
