GRAMMYs beauty trend: Glossy nude lips

Stars like Rihanna and Madonna brought their sartorial A-game to the red carpet at the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards, but the excitement didn't end there. On the beauty front, we got to see some of our favourite singers and musicians take their beauty looks in new directions - most opting to pare down their hair and makeup, and their lips in particular.

Nicki Minaj shocked us on on the red carpet this year - with her least shocking look yet! The "Anaconda" singer, who was nominated for Best Rap Song, kept her brown locks sleek and straight and opted for one of the night's most popular trends: a glossy nude lip. Pretty is the first word that comes to mind, and a new one for the over-the-top singer, who usually shocks in brightly coloured and hotly debated wares.

Also hopping on the barely there lip trend was Gwen Stefani, who traded her signature red pout for a slick of shiny nude lipstick. But the star couldn't hold off all night, and eventually brought back the rouge for her duet with Adam Levine.

Nicole Kidman, there to support husband Keith Urban, also had her lip game on point, pairing her understated kisser with a pin-straight "lob" (long bob), the perfect pairing with her long-sleeved, grommet-accented Thierry Mugler mini.

And if there's ever a trend, the queen of pop knows - yes, that would be Beyoncé, whose clean face of flawless skin and nude lips spelled b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l to a tee.
