The Isn’t It Romantic star graces the glossy August cover of Elle UK. She spent much of it gushing over her close confidant, even revealing the adorable nickname she has for her.
“Megs... she was always meant for big things. To be a change and be an important voice in doing that,” the 36-year-old said. “It's amazing that she found that calling and has the platform to be able to do it.”
To Meghan’s friend, who said “I do” to Nick Jonas in December 2018, it’s not a surprise the duchess has gone on to make a big name for herself.
“By the time this comes out, she will have a baby – it’s so amazing how lives change,” the award-winning actress gushed. “I’m a big believer in taking charge of your life, but there’s got to be something bigger that puts us into the circumstances that we are put in. Destiny has a weird way of helping you find your calling.”
Th duo have been inseparable since they e met at in 2016 at Elle’s Women in Television dinner. Even oceans apart, it seems the two still deeply rely on each other’s friendships.
“Priyanka is unbelievable, she’s become a really good friend,” Meghan told The Indian Express in 2016. “You know when you meet someone and you just click... It was an easy, natural progression.”
Meghan and Priyanka have shared some fun times, between traveling abroad and seeing their favourite musical Hamilton on Broadway, but they’ve also been through some tough times together, as well. The Quantico star knows being in the royal hot seat hasn’t been easy for Meghan.
“I’ve seen that, and it’s really unfortunate,” Priyanka told The Sunday Times last month, referring to the intense media scrutiny Meghan has suffered. “But if there’s anyone who can handle it, it's her... Of course it has to do with racism, it’s an obvious reason.”
She continued: “The beauty of Meg is that she’s been herself through all of this. A lot of people got to know her after everything, but I knew her before [she started dating Harry] and she’s the same chick... Now she’s got a real platform, she talks about the same things she always did.”
