Miley Cyrus slipped into some leopard print to deliver an incredible tribute to Shania Twain on Tuesday’s episode of The Voice. The 25-year-old coach rocked out to “Man I Feel Like A Woman” alongside her team (Janice Freeman, Brooke Simpson and Ashland Craft), and put her own signature spin on the iconic women’s anthem.
Even Shania, who recently kick started a career comeback after a 15-year hiatus, was impressed, taking to Twitter to praise the performance. “@mileycyrus and #TeamMiley's performance of 'Man I Feel Like A Woman' on @nbcthevoice was SO AWESOME! And you rocked that leopard print girls. Make sure to keep voting for them every week guys,” wrote the mother of one.
Sadly, Janice was sent home after the epic #GirlPower performance, but not without a heartfelt send off message from her mentor. The former Disney star shared an energetic photo of the quad on Instagram, with a reassuring message that it’s “not over! Just the beginning for us baby!”
Soon Shania will follow in Miley’s footsteps as music mentor on the new singing series The Launch. The show premieres on Jan. 10 and promises to find the next big musical hit-maker in Canada. And what better way to hone your talent than with guidance from a Canadian legend?
Unlike other singing competition series like American Idol, contestants on The Launch will be required to create new original songs every episode. Joining Shania on the mentor panel are Fergie, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedderand record executive Scott Borchetta. The announcement comes five months after Shania appeared on The Voice, where she helped the final 12 contestants perfect their performances.
