Daisy Ridley recently opened up about the very special bond she shares with legendary singer and actress Barbra Streisand, and the immeasurable impact the icon has had on her life and career.

Daisy and Barbra recorded broadway hit "At the Ballet" together.

“I went to her house and we talked about [psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Carl] Jung because my dad loves Jung, and we were talking about dreams, and I left and got super emotional, not because she’s famous, but because she’s amazing,” Daisy explained to Elle UK. “Part of her reputation comes from being a woman. If it was a man being ‘controlling’ about his career, people would just say he knows what he wants.”

Daisy and Barbra’s friendship dates back to 2016, when the Hollywood icon asked the young actress to sing on her Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway album. Anne Hathaway also got in on the musical act and the trio harmonized beautifully together on “At the Ballet.

Of the experience, the rising star gushed, “I have had no experience recording, so to have my first experience recording with Barbra Streisand is pretty insane. Not only am I working with two Oscar winning actresses, both of those actresses won Oscars for musical films. Slightly daunting!”

Daisy’s career has skyrocketed since her Star Wars debut in The Force Awakens. Luckily for the star, she had the late Carrie Fisher in her corner coaching her on how to deal with the international stardom that comes with playing a Star Wars heroine.

Pushing back tears, Daisy told Vogue, “I’d never met anyone openly bipolar before, who discussed loving glitter because of her LSD days.” She also recalled some important words of wisdom the veteran dished out on the set of Star Wars. When it comes to dating, Carrie told Daisy to be careful because “you don’t want to give people the ability to say ‘I had sex with Princess Leia.”

Daisy and Carrie posed together at a 'Star Wars' press event.
