Jacob Tremblay keeps his Critics' Choice award next to his Millennium Falcon

At the 2016 Critics Choice Awards, Best Young Actor winner Jacob Tremblay stole the show with his sweet and heartfelt acceptance speech in which he told the audience where he planned to keep his new trophy. “I know where to put this! On the shelf right next to my Millennium Falcon!” exclaimed the nine-year-old. Now, the Canadian actor has revealed that he stayed true to his word, housing the hardware in his room right next to his beloved Star Wars memorabilia.

The adorable star, who has quickly become the darling of awards season, also showed off a gift he received from talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. The daytime queen helped the Vancouver native get ready for the Oscars by giving him a replica Star Wars rebel flight suit, complete with a helmet and bow tie, which he "promised" to wear on the red carpet. The trophy lives amidst other mementoes like a framed picture of Jacob's interview with Jimmy Kimmel.

Jacob will be on hand at the 88th annual Academy Awards to both present an award and cheer on his co-star Brie Larson, who is the odds-on favourite to take home the Best Actress honour. The close relationship the duo shared in Room is stronger than ever with Brie crediting her on-screen son for keeping her sane during the past couple of months. "I could not have made the movie without him and I could not get through this whirlwind press experience without him," the actress revealed to eTalk. "He is my rock."
