Listed: Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka sell their $2.9 million California home

In 2007, Neil Patrick Harris and his partner, David Burtka, moved into their Sherman Oaks, California home with their fraternal twins in tow.

But now that the How I Met Your Mother actor has moved to Broadway, the duo have put their house on the market – and it's already sold!

The property, which they purchased for $2.1 million seven years ago, reportedly went for well over the $2.9 million asking price.

This Los Angeles home was built in 1991 and sits on an estimated one-third of an acre. Nestled along a canyon road that backs on to Stone Canyon Park, the quiet neighbourhood is home to fellow celebrities like Pink and Corey Hart, The Shield’s Michael Chiklis and comedian and talk-show host Wayne Brady.

Celebrity neighbours aren’t this home’s only perk. The property also boasts 4,286-square feet of space and has six bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms.

Four modestly-sized bedrooms are for guests and children, while the master suite includes private access to a bathroom with spa tub, a walk-in closet and a private balcony that overlooks a park-like backyard.

A sixth bedroom is included as staff quarters, but could easily be used as an office or an additional guest bedroom for entertaining large groups.

Mocha-hued hardwood floors, a fireplace and French doors decorate the family room, while wainscoting and even more French doors accent the adjacent dining room. Both rooms open on to the backyard, which features an expansive finished deck, a pizza oven and a pool.

Finally, a simple eat-in kitchen is appropriately under-designed and fit for family dining.
