Grattis på födelsedagen, Prinz Carl Philip! That's Swedish for Happy Birthday, Prince Carl Philip!

The Swedish royal turned 41 on May 13 and the Kungahuset Instagram shared a regal portrait for the occasion, which was taken by his wife Princess Sofia!

The handsome image shows Carl Philip sitting outside next to a pot of colourful spring flowers. He is wearing a pale blue button-down shirt, brown trousers and a black watch. The birthday boy has a big grin on his face.

According to the Instagram post, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia's only son was photographed by Princess Sofia on the stairs of their family home at Djurgården, an island in Stockholm.

Like Duchess Kate, the Duchess of Värmland appears to have an interest in photography. Previously, Sofia took an adorable photo of son Prince Gabriel to mark his second birthday on Aug. 31, 2019.

The Duchess of Cambridge has become known for capturing the milestone moments of her children, Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte and Prince George. She was most recently behind the camera to shoot little Louis's colourful second birthday portraits and for Charlotte's fifth birthday portraits, which showed the young girl volunteering during the coronavirus pandemic.
