With an astounding 29 nominations and eight wins to date – more than any actor or actress in history – Meryl Streep is the undisputed queen of the Golden Globes, but it’s not just film critics who adore the elegant movie star.
Meryl also reigns over the red carpet with her classic, confident sense of style, which only seems to get better with age. Whether she’s wearing tailored jackets, menswear-inspired looks or flowing gowns, the mother of four is perpetually flawless – even when she’s fearlessly taken a few fashion risks along the way.
“For me, clothes are kind of character. I don’t follow fashion or understand trends,” the acclaimed actress once said.
Meryl even donated her famous wardrobe from The Devil Wears Prada to a charity auction, proving she’s a far cry from her Miranda Priestly character, who was said to be inspired by Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
And yet, despite claiming to “care less” about fashion, the Yale-educated star’s sense of style has endured. Timeless, tailored and, at times, a touch kooky, we can’t wait to see what the Oscar winner will wear at this year’s Golden Globes, where she’s nominated once more for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Into the Woods.
