GRAMMYs 2015: Show highlights and all the winners

In one of the most rocking opening acts we've ever seen, AC/DC took us for a seriously heavy ride on the "Highway to Hell" as the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards kicked off. And there were many more power-performances to come from the likes of Miranda Lambert, Madonna and Pharrell.

Miranda took to the stage with a fire in her step, strutting her stuff in black leather while belting out her hit song "Little Red Wagon." The country star took home the award for Best Country Album for Platinum (she was nominated for four!).

Mirroring the Givenchy Matador-style getup she donned on the red carpet, Madonna hit the stage like a bull fighter in a black-and-red leotard and jacket with a black satin cape and a horde of leather-clad backup dancers in bull horns and jewelled face masks for a performance of "Living for Love." A gospel choir in red robes ended the spectacular performance with a giant singalong, before the pop legend ascended off stage.

Sam Smith was definitely the man of the hour, scooping up two statues. On accepting his Best Pop Vocal Album win, he thanked the audience for "letting me just be myself."

As Taylor Swift introduced Sam Smith's other win, Best New Artist, the statuesque songstress reminded her friends in the category that - despite becoming the second woman in history to have two albums spend 10 or more weeks at the top of the charts - she, in fact, lost in the very same category in 2008!

And, of course, duets were the order of the evening - from Jessi J and Tom Jones singing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" (he in a sparkly black suit, she in a gorgeous, sheer black gown) to Lady Gaga's animated "Cheek to Cheek" duet with Tony Bennett. Other pairs included Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani, decked out in a bow-accented strapless red gown with a thigh-high slit, and Annie Lennox with Hozier, who performed "Take Me To Church" before the two launched into an amazing rendition of "I Put A Spell On You."

When Electric Light Orchestra took the stage to sing "Evil Woman," a lone Paul McCartney stood to dance and clap along. Ed Sheeran and John Mayer later joined the classic rockers for a rendition of "Thinking Out Loud." Another trio to take the stage wasPaul McCartney, Rihanna and Kanye West in a highly anticipated, stripped-down performance of "FourFiveSeconds."

One of the night's other winners, Pharrell Williams, looked a bit Grand Budapest Hotel as he coaxed the entire room onto their feet for a spirited rendition of "Happy" with pianist Lang Lang. Sam Smith and Mary J. Blige also teamed up for "Stay With Me."
